Mexico City Open: Growing Prestige and Attracting New Sponsorships

Writer: Smart SponsorshipSmart Sponsorship

The Mexico City Open has established itself as a key event on the international tennis circuit. Held at the Chapultepec Sports Center, this ATP Challenger 125 tournament has been recognized as the best in its category in 2024, which has generated a significant impact on its sponsorship and media projection.

For its 2025 edition, the event will be held from April 6 to 13 and will have a prize purse of 200,000 dollars, an increase of 21% over the previous year. This growth has boosted the arrival of important brands such as Ve Por Más and Buick, which join other consolidated sponsors such as Continental and Caliente.mx.

The Importance of Sponsorships in Tennis

One of the major announcements of this edition is the incorporation of Ve Por Más as the tournament's presenter. The contract, with an initial duration of two years, opens the possibility that in 2026 the bank will acquire the naming of the tournament, as is the case with other tennis events in Mexico, such as the Acapulco Open with HSBC and the Los Cabos Open with Telcel Oppo.

In total, the Mexico City Open 2025 will be backed by 18 brands, seven of which are new, reflecting the growing commercial interest in the tournament. The reputation achieved through its organization, hospitality and player satisfaction has been key to attracting new partnerships.

Increased Media Projection

Another milestone for this edition is the broadcast of the tournament on ESPN and Disney Plus, which will bring the event to a global audience. This media exposure represents an invaluable asset for sponsors and reinforces Mexico's presence on the international tennis circuit.

The Challenge: Reaching the Balancing Point

Despite advances in sponsorship and international exposure, the tournament's main challenge remains achieving financial stability. With a team of 350 people working to maintain the quality of the event, the organization seeks to guarantee a sustainable model that will allow it to continue growing in the long term.

The Mexico City Open 2025 promises to be a historic edition, not only for the quality of the players that will participate, but also for its impact on the sports and entertainment industry in Mexico.
